This little guy is Chopper from the anime/manga series One Piece, which is basically a lengthy story about pirates. It's about some other stuff too, like social injustice and politics and human rights and war and the bonds that connect and bring strangers together.

Also poop. It's a shonen series, what else do you expect? Chopper here is indeed a pirate. He's also a doctor! And a talking reindeer. That's probably the most important part. He's an itty bitty pirate doctor talking reindeer but he's really caring and nice and super cute and really tsundere bad at taking compliments! His new name is now "Tanuki", which is horrible because a tanuki is a Japanese raccoon-dog and it's what Chopper gets mistaken for a lot. Hopefully I can get around to introing him soon and I can't wait to do so. ♥

Chopper! I am starting with the series on DVD and slowly getting through it. I have yet to see Chopper in it but he seems adorable!

I mean. Hi Daisy, I'm a newbie here, named Cass and brought in this here ex-mermaid people tend to be familiar with somehow. Yup.

SHRIEK ARIEL. i will be throwing Chopper at her so hard seeing as he just finished up with going to an entire underwater island filled with mermaids. he will like her lots, ex-mermaid or not 'A'

I hear that kind of goes for most if not all the cast with the sad backstories, but I am enjoying it thus far. It just seems really fun and lighthearted for the most part.

Eheh. Chopper can make friends with all the mermaids? XD

Haha, that is almost a requirement for every character in this series, especially the Straw Hats. No existing in this manga without a tragic backstory. But those moments are evened out really well with lots of ridiculous humor and shenanigans so you don't ever have to worry about getting too overwhelmed by it. :')

It seems to have a good balance in that, which is probably part of why I am enjoying it, it is not too jarring or overwhelming (so far at least). It's mostly just a bunch of friends having all the adventures and being dorks together. Which I love.
