People've come to call me Dino and I'll be bringing Dirk Strider from Homestuck to the mix. Homestuck is a webcomic involving all sorts of timey-wimey, spacey-wacey shenanigans, blending religion, philosophy, mythology, art, history, and pop culture into this amazing mess that will entirely consume your soul and sacrifice it to the Horrorterrors.

Dirk? He's pretty much royalty. From Texas. And he raps. Oh, does he rap. And build mechanic death machines. His new name is Dagger (being a hypernym for his first name). He should be working as a sansuke in the bathhouse (still waiting for confirmation).

Despite my tendency to be a sarcastic ass with this character, I'm really a shy, little freak nice guy. This is my first time in a game on Dreamwidth (been around the block a bit on Tumblr), so pardons ahead of time if I screw up anywhere.

Yep! That's pretty much the gist of Tumblr RP. There are games and independent players on there, so it's all pretty varied. People also use a lot of icons for reactions in their posts... Like... You quickly develop collections of several hundred icons.

Ooooohhhh, I think it's a lot of fun! I like having the option of going in first person and third person, so you can kind of lean towards one or the other or whatever's most comfortable. And yes, memes. I am a whore for memes.

It's convenient for Homestuck, AGAIN, because of chat logs, but you'll get the hang of it!

Some examples from Siren's Pull, where I play Vriska...

VIDEO POST! You kind of write it like you would in third person, except you use what we call action style instead of prose. Like...

He walked into the room and punched Dirk in the face.

Would be prose, but action usually uses brackets or something similar like...

[ Walks into the room and punches Dirk in the face. ]

Voice posts are in a similar fashion? Except you don't describe what a character will see, but what they hear.

TEXT POST is a lot like chat logs. It's just your character typing.

Pretty much! Just action threads, basically. Sometimes people will go from a text or video to action in the same post...meaning like your characters agree to meet up but you don't want to put up a separate log in the log community? So you just continue the same thread but jump forward when they meet. That's a lot like on bakerstreet.

OH! I know that character, I'm not sure if I remember them, though. I've only been there for a few months.
